Job Summary
- The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that machinery, equipment, and systems within an organization operate efficiently and reliably.
- This role involves proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.
Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance:
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to prevent equipment failures.
- Schedule and conduct regular inspections and servicing of machinery and systems.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues promptly.
- Perform necessary repairs or coordinate with external service providers when required.
Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Promote a safe working environment by identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
Performance Evaluation:
- Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Utilize diagnostic tools to assess system health and preempt potential failures.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Generate reports on equipment status and recommend necessary upgrades or replacements.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to align maintenance activities with production schedules.
- Provide technical support and training to staff as needed.
Requirements
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Master’s degree in a related engineering field.
- Professional certifications is an added advantage.
Experience Required:
- 5 -10 years of experience in maintenance engineering or a related field.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments is advantageous.
