Position Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and proactive Feed Mill Supervisor to oversee and optimize feed production operations for our poultry and livestock unit.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the entire feed manufacturing process, from raw material intake, formulation, and grinding to batching, mixing, and quality assurance.
- This role requires hands-on leadership, technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to safety, hygiene, and feed quality.
- The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong production management capabilities, leadership in team coordination, operational efficiency, and a deep understanding of poultry nutrition and feed formulation.
Key Responsibilities
Feed Production Management:
- Supervise and coordinate all feed milling activities including intake, formulation, grinding, mixing, and packaging.
- Monitor and control the operation of two-ton hammer mills and associated machinery.
- Ensure production aligns with farm requirements for broilers, layers, breeders, and other livestock.
- Implement and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
Quality Assurance & Biosecurity:
- Conduct routine checks to ensure feed quality conforms to nutritional specifications and hygiene standards.
- Ensure zero contamination through strict adherence to biosecurity protocols in raw material handling and production.
- Monitor temperature, moisture content, and microbial control throughout the process.
- Maintain quality assurance standards in accordance with poultry best practices.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain feed mill machinery and auxiliary systems.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance; liaise with the maintenance team for technical faults.
- Monitor equipment performance and ensure timely resolution of mechanical issues.
Inventory & Materials Management:
- Maintain accurate records of raw materials, feed production, and product dispatch.
- Monitor raw material usage and initiate timely reorders in collaboration with the procurement department.
- Ensure secure storage and optimal handling of raw materials to prevent loss, spoilage, or pest infestation.
Team Supervision & Training:
- Lead, train, and supervise feed mill staff across shifts to meet production goals.
- Enforce safety protocols, production discipline, and good housekeeping practices.
- Evaluate team performance, promote knowledge sharing, and ensure continuous professional development.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations governing feed milling operations.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely production, maintenance, and quality control reports.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., farm units, procurement, accounts) to ensure operational synergy.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Feed Quality Compliance: Consistency in nutrient profiles and zero contamination.
- Production Efficiency: Timely delivery, minimal downtime, and target achievement.
- Raw Material Utilization: Zero waste, optimal yield from inputs.
- Safety & Compliance: Zero incidents, adherence to SOPs and HSE standards.
- Cost Management: Effective budgeting and reduction of input cost per ton of feed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Candidates should possess a B.Sc. / HND in Animal Science, Agricultural Engineering, Animal Nutrition, Poultry Science, Feed Mill Management, or related fields.
- 5–7 years’ experience in a similar supervisory role in a commercial feed mill or large-scale poultry/livestock facility.
- Strong hands-on experience with hammer mills, mixers, dosing systems, and automated feed production systems.
- Advanced understanding of feed formulation, poultry/livestock nutritional requirements, and raw material properties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and feed formulation/production management software.
- Must be safety-conscious and familiar with relevant feed production and environmental regulations.
- Experience in record keeping, stock control, and shift coordination.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Willingness to reside in or relocate to Asaba, Delta State.

Remuneration
Salary:
- N300,000 / Month (based on experience)
