The Operational Risk Management Officer is responsible for implementing the bank’s Operational Risk Management Policy, ensuring compliance with risk frameworks, and minimizing operational losses. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across business units while fostering a strong risk culture. Key responsibilities include risk monitoring, policy enforcement, regulatory compliance (IFRS S1 & S2), and training staff on risk awareness. The officer also supports Enterprise Risk Management, maintains the policy repository, and ensures adherence to the bank’s risk appetite and parameters.
Job Details
Ensure compliance with risk appetite and risk parameters established by the Group
Develop strategies for mitigating all business and operational (including technology) risk
Oversee and ensure the integrity of the operational risk assessment process within business units.
Build and ensure a bank-wide operational risk management culture.
Drive the implementation of the IFRS S1 and S2 sustainability compliance
Effectiveness of RCSA, KRI, and LDM (Loss Data Management)
Minimize Operational Risk Losses
Minimize Losses arising from Cyber Risks Incidents
Adherence to cost budgets
Monitor remediation of any breaches or misalignments reported by the above functions
Preparation of Reports & Case Studies for Learning Purposes
Provide support to the Enterprise Risk Management Function
Manage the policy repository for the bank and ensure reviews in line with policy requirements.
Provide support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization
