- We are expanding our team and looking for a qualified and experienced Transport Service Manager at our Ajaokuta Plant.
- The role is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and improvement of mechanical systems within heavy equipment, specifically Cat excavators, pay loaders, trucks, and forklifts.
- This includes troubleshooting and maintaining the machinery to optimise performance, reduce downtime, and increase longevity.
Experience & Key Responsibilities
- Basic troubleshooting and minor repair skills to identify problems before they become major issues.
- Understanding of machinery mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including powertrains (Transmission), hydraulics, and engine diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with Cat-brand machines like excavators, payloaders, trucks, and forklifts, and an understanding of their components, functions, and operations.
- The role is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and improvement of mechanical systems within heavy equipment, specifically Cat excavators, payloaders, trucks, and forklifts. - Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
- Use diagnostic tools and software (e.g., CAT ET) to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures. Apply root cause analysis to resolve recurring issues and prevent future failures.
- Experience working with construction, mining, or logistics equipment, specifically Cat-brand machines like excavators, payloaders, Sinotrucks, and Toyota/Liuogong forklifts.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-engineering personnel, including operators, technicians, and management.
- Supervisory and team management skills is a must.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing/automobile environment
- Strong computer skills
- Analytical mindset with a techno-commercial approach
- Proficient in English
- Languages Preferred: English (Fluency required)
- Should have good Excel knowledge and exposure to fleet/service management solutions
