JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of the IT Administrator is to oversee and maintain all aspects of the College computer infrastructure. This includes maintaining networks, servers and security programmes and systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and maintain the College’s computer networks, servers and systems including the result processing and student information systems
- Provide technical assistance to students, staff and faculty on computer related issues
- Install, configure and maintain software and hardware systems
- Liaise effectively between the College and the IT Manager for seamless resolution of problems
- Liaise appropriately with relevant departments to implement and maintain security measures to protect the College’s data and systems
- Liaise with the institution’s software providers for seamless delivery of services to students, staff and users
- Schedule and manage online exam support using a variety of examination software packages.
- Provide training and support to staff and students on IT systems and software
- Ensure new IT systems and applications are fully integrated into the College’s existing system and well-understood for utilization by relevant stakeholders
- Offer appropriate technical support for all college programmes, events and ceremonies
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement IT solutions
- Maintain IT policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant organisational IT regulations and standards
REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in either Compute Science or Information Science from any recognised tertiary institution.
- Knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Office suite, Moodle, Exam.net and Safe Exam Browser candidate is expected to know
- Experience with CMS such as Wordpress and experience in graphic design is a plus.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Packages such as Microsoft Admin Center, Microsoft Teams, etc.
- Three-Five years post qualification. Work experience in the IT unit of a tertiary institution is an added advantage.
