Reports To: Manager - Operations Data and Analytics

Division: Information Technology

Mission:

• Design, build, and maintains large-scale data systems, architectures, and pipelines, ensuring data quality, security, and scalability. Leverage programming languages, data tools, and cloud technologies to drive business insights, inform decision-making, and deliver data-driven solutions, bridging the gap between data and business outcomes.

Description:

• Assist in developing maintenance plans per application and carry out the maintenance of applications, re-configuring, building and testing components in accordance with OLAs and SLAs. 


• Ensure Code applications is in accordance with good security coding practices to ensure the application is free of most common coding vulnerabilities.  


• Create and execute technical test plans for operational and bug fixes. 


• Participate in transitions of the application or technical architecture, design and development components into production environment 


• Ensure the integrity of the solutions delivered into production environment. 


• Perform reconciliations, proactive monitoring and ensure adequate service controls are in place. 


• Design, build, and maintain large-scale data systems, architectures, and pipelines


• Ensure data quality, security, and scalability


• Develop and implement data integration, processing, and visualization solutions


• Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions


• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to drive business outcomes


• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies in data engineering


• Participate in transitions of the application or technical architecture components


• Fix any defects and performance problems discovered in production


• Develop information solutions from a variety of sources for both structured and unstructured data


• Integrate big data solutions with existing reporting and analytical solutions


• Support team and enhancement to ETL system


• Develop and implement big data models and solutions


• Conduct root cause analysis on production issues


• Guidance of entire information management process of both structured and unstructured data


• Understand and interpret complex business requirements and translate them into useful BI applications


• Understanding of Big Data principles, models and solutions e.g. Hadoop and apply it to current projects/initiatives


• Participate in the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Education:

• First degree in Computer Science or any related discipline  


• Fluent in English  

Experience:

3 – 7 years of experience in an area of specialization; with experience with working with others 

• Experience working in a medium-sized organization  


• Experience in Enterprise Application Support
