We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Banking Operations Manager with a good background and understanding of the Fintech and Mortgage banking industry to join our team.

• Strategic Leadership and Planning: Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve business growth, improve efficiency and enhance customer experience during the lending and servicing process.


• Mortgage Loan Processing and Underwriting Oversight:


• Supervise and direct the activities of loan processing and underwriting teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and investor guidelines.


• Mortgage Servicing and Default Management: Oversee mortgage servicing operations, including payment processing, escrow management, and default management.


• Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement: Analyze and optimize mortgage banking processes, including loan boarding, payment processing, and document management, implementing changes to enhance productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.


• Talent Development: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of mortgage operations professionals.


• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, credit, and compliance, to ensure seamless operations and resolve issues.


• Compliance and Risk Management: Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, such as FMBN, BOFIA, and managing risk associated with mortgage lending, including credit risk, interest rate risk, and operational risk.


• Budgeting and Cost Management: Manage operational budgets, controlling costs and ensuring effective resource allocation to support mortgage lending and servicing operations.


• Mortgage Product Development: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of operations systems, including loan origination, servicing, and document management. Assist in the development and implementation of new mortgage products and programs.


• Audit and Compliance: Coordinate internal audits, regulatory exams, and compliance reviews, ensuring timely and effective remediation of any issues related to mortgage lending and servicing.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Masters degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, ACA, or CIBN) is an added advantage.  


• 10–15 years of proven experience in operations management, risk management and compliance, with a focus on mortgage banking or related financial services.  


• Strong understanding of mortgage loan products, processes and regulations governing the mortgage banking industry.  


• Proficiency in mortgage banking software, Microsoft Office and other related systems.  


• Excellent communication, leadership and management skills.  Adaptability to changing regulatory requirements, market conditions and business needs.
