Job Summary
- The successful candidate will assist licensed nurses with patient care, perform various administrative tasks, and provide support to ensure the smooth operation of our healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care:
- Assist licensed nurses with vital signs, bathing, dressing, and feeding patients.
- Help patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
- Assist with range-of-motion exercises and other therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, reports, and charts.
- Assist with data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Support Services:
- Restock supplies, linens, and equipment as needed.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols.
Communication and Teamwork:
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with licensed nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in shift reports, care conferences, and other team meetings.
Requirements
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 - 8 years of work experience.
- Completion of a nurse assistant training program or equivalent experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassion, empathy, and patience when interacting with patients and families.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic medical records (EMRs) systems.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods.
- Ability to work in a variety of settings, including patient rooms, treatment areas, and administrative offices.
