About the Job




  • This role is responsible for planning, scheduling and ensuring execution of daily, weekly and monthly activities to ensure smooth operations of the solar power plants.

  • The O&M Engineer takes the responsibility of monitoring the performance of the solar power plants on a day-to-day basis and must be available for resolution, in the event of a fault.



Responsibilities

You will be a proactive and integral member of the team carrying out the following:




  • Identify problems with operational plants, and develop and drive implementation of corrective action.

  • Serve as company operations liaison with clients, and ensure that all communication is promptly reported to management, and resolved in a timely fashion.

  • Schedule and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

  • Perform remote monitoring of operational plants to track performance and flag faults or incidents.

  • Analyze data from metering, performance, system design, etc., ensuring that system performance is accurately tracked.

  • Process customer invoices and track revenue collection performance with accurate records.

  • Provide timely reports from field operation, site performance and other information as may be requested by management.

  • Respond to site call-outs and maintain a register of faults and site incidents, as well as repair activities, budgets, and the time and materials expended on tasks completed.

  • Ensure that all O&M activities performed at project sites comply with OEM (original equipment manufacturer) requirements.

  • Support Supply Chain in stock acquisition and management.

  • Drive warranty claim processes where applicable for repairs or maintenance.



Education and Experience




  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc / HND. in an Electrical Engineering is preferred; other fields may be considered with relevant experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Power Systems or Renewable Energy role

  • Excellent capabilities using Microsoft Office tools and Power BI

  • Experience using remote monitoring tools like ELUM or AMMP

  • Good leadership and organizational skills

  • Read and interpret technical designs and specifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Creative problem-solving

  • A strategic and analytical mind

  • Persistence and attention to detail in pursuit of objectives

  • Ability to work efficiently with little to no supervision.
