Role Summary
- The Aquarium Business Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations of client aquariums and showroom aquatic facilities.
- This individual supports both service delivery and customer engagement,balancing aquatic care with business responsiveness.
- The ideal candidate must demonstrate attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a flair for communication, while taking pride in maintaining aquatic life to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Aquatic Facility & Client Maintenance:
- Maintain aquarium tanks at both the showroom and client locations, ensuring pristine cleanliness and proper water chemistry.
- Conduct routine water changes, equipment inspections, and health checks for both freshwater and saltwater species.
- Identify, treat, and monitor sick fish, ensuring swift response and proactive care.
- Prepare aquarium bowls, tanks, and accessories for dispatch in line with scheduled client orders.
- Ensure the showroom reflects excellent aquatic standards—clean, lively, and fully operational.
Customer Engagement & Service:
- Attend scheduled client maintenance visits, delivering service that exceeds expectations.
- Educate customers on fish care best practices, basic troubleshooting, and aquarium upkeep.
- Address customer inquiries, relay feedback and complaints, and follow through until resolution.
- Support client acquisition and retention through friendly engagement and product knowledge.
Inventory & Quality Assurance:
- Monitor aquarium inventory, ensuring essential tools, fish feed, and tank accessories are available.
- Implement quality control procedures across tanks, equipment, and maintenance protocols.
- Track equipment maintenance schedules to avoid service gaps or aquarium failure.
Learning & Research:
- Actively engage in fishery trends, aquarium technologies, and species-specific research.
- Stay informed on aquatic innovations and apply findings to improve service delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
- OND, HND, or B.Sc. in any discipline.
- 1 – 3 years of experience in aquarium care, aquatic maintenance, or customer support roles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly observant, disciplined, and proactive with good time management.
- Smart appearance with a problem-solving mindset.
- Confidence, honesty, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Passion for aquatic life and client engagement is essential.
