We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Accountant to lead and establish our finance operations from the ground up.
This individual will play a critical role in building and managing our finance department, developing financial controls, creating payroll systems, and ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate must be based in Lagos Island and ready to take full ownership of financial processes in a growing and dynamic organisation.
Responsibilities
Set up and structure the finance department, including systems, processes, and internal controls.
Build and maintain a robust payroll system and employee compensation database.
Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Handle day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR, reconciliations, invoicing, and cash-flow management.
Ensure timely statutory filings, tax compliance, and liaise with relevant regulatory bodies.
Implement accounting software and digital tools for efficient finance operations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Advise management on financial planning, risk management, and cost control strategies.
Lead or support audits and financial reviews.
Collaborate with HR and other departments on employee compensation and benefits alignment.
Requirements
A minimum of a BSc / Master's Degree / HND in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
ACA/ACCA or other relevant professional certification is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 4-6 years Post ICAN experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or department-building capacity.
Strong knowledge of payroll, tax laws, and Nigerian financial regulations.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, ZohoBooks).
Strong analytical skills, integrity, and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
