Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure the timely preparation and accuracy of financial statements.
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts.
Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and address any identified issues.
- Maintain and enforce adherence to accounting standards
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting team.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Strategic Planning and Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and manage budgets and cost-control measures.
- Contribute to financial strategies to support organizational goals.
System and Process Optimization:
- Evaluate and improve accounting systems, processes, and controls.
- Implement new technologies or tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or ACCA certification preferred).
- Experience: 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, among others) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise required).
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
