Job Summary




  • Welcome2Africa International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Controller to join our dynamic team.

  • As a key member of the leadership team, the Finance Controller will oversee all financial operations and ensure the company’s financial health across its strategic focus areas.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, strategic planning, and compliance, with a passion for driving sustainable economic growth and development in Africa.

  • The Finance Controller will play a critical role in supporting investors and stakeholders by providing accurate financial insights, implementing robust financial controls, and ensuring transparency in reporting.

  • This role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution to help us achieve our mission of fostering sustainable trade and investment opportunities within and across Africa.



Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting:




  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international accounting standards.

  • Provide timely and insightful financial analysis to support decision making across the organization.

  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models to align with the company’s strategic objectives.



Internal Controls & Compliance:




  • Establish and enforce internal financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Monitor adherence to local and international tax laws, audit requirements, and other financial regulations.

  • Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure smooth processes and accurate reporting.



Cash Flow Management:




  • Manage cash flow projections and optimize working capital to ensure liquidity for operational needs.

  • Oversee treasury functions, including banking relationships, foreign exchange risk management, and funding strategies.



Investor Relations & Stakeholder Support:




  • Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for investors, partners, and key stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tailored financial advice that supports trade and investment objectives.



Strategic Planning & Growth Initiatives:




  • Contribute to the development of long term business strategies aligned with the company’s mission of driving sustainable economic growth in Africa.

  •  Identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and process improvements.



Team Leadership & Development:




  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing finance team to deliver exceptional results.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the finance department.



Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Investments or a related field.

  • The candidate should possess an ICAN certification

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within trade, investment, or related industries.

  • Experience in sectors like Agriculture, Maritime, Solid Minerals, or Renewable Energy is highly desirable.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in advanced financial software and ERP systems.

  • · Flexible to work overtime and weekends when necessary, very available and responsive
