Job Description
The AC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems and related equipment within the manufacturing facility. This includes servicing HVAC systems, ensuring temperature control in production and office areas, and responding promptly to breakdowns to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioning systems (split units, central units, industrial chillers, etc.).
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure peak performance.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
- Replace or repair worn parts and conduct pressure and leak tests.
- Ensure proper refrigerant handling and usage according to safety and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate records of services and repairs performed.
- Assist with planning and layout of new air conditioning systems.
- Monitor and adjust system performance to optimize efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team and facility supervisors for scheduled servicing.
Education & Qualifications:
- Trade Test Certificate, Technical College Certificate, or OND in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or related fields.
- Certification in HVAC or AC Maintenance is an advantage.
Experience:
- 2–4 years hands-on experience as an AC Technician, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and controls.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Proficient in diagnosing and fixing AC-related faults.
- Familiarity with refrigerant handling and safety protocols.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and controls.
