Role Description




  • The Senior Finance Lead will oversee financial planning, analysis, and operations, with a strong focus on receivables management, financial reconciliation, and debt recovery to ensure liquidity and profitability. This role requires strategic financial leadership, compliance expertise, and the ability to optimize processes in a high-growth logistics environment.



Responsibility




  • Your responsibilities as a Senior Finance Lead are as follows but not limited to;

  • Develop and execute financial strategies to support business growth and sustainability.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to ensure liquidity.

  • Advise senior management on pricing, cost reduction, and investment decisions.

  • Oversee timely invoicing, collections, and aging reports to minimize DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).

  • Design and implement strategies to recover overdue payments from clients, including negotiation, payment plans, and legal escalation if needed.

  • Establish credit policies, assess client creditworthiness, and mitigate bad debt risks.

  • Ensure accuracy of bank, customer, and vendor reconciliations.

  • Investigate and resolve mismatches in financial records (e.g., payments vs. deliveries).

  • Implement controls to detect and prevent revenue leakage or financial fraud.

  • Prepare accurate monthly/quarterly financial statements (IFRS compliant).

  • Manage audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.

  • Strengthen internal controls for logistics-specific risks.

  • Optimize working capital by managing payables, receivables, and inventory costs.

  • Analyze logistics-specific KPIs.

  • Partner with operations to evaluate new market expansions or tech investments.

  • Mentor finance teams (AP/AR, payroll, reconciliation).

  • Liaise with banks, auditors, and legal teams for debt recovery or compliance matters.

  • Collaborate with tech to automate receivables and reconciliation processes. 

  • Model ROI for fleet expansion, warehouse investments, or tech upgrades.

  • Support pricing strategies for B2B/B2C delivery services.

  • Optimize working capital, cash flow, and cost structures for logistics operations.

  • Analyze unit economics (e.g., cost per delivery, fleet efficiency).



Requirements




  • 8+ years in finance, with 4+ years in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record in receivables management, debt recovery, and reconciliation (logistics, e commerce, or startups a plus).

  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets; ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).

  • Expertise in aging reports, collections, and dispute resolution.

  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management.

  • Understanding of logistics cash flow challenges (e.g., delayed client payments, fuel cost fluctuations etc Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
