Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast future performance .
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insightful commentary on variances .
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements .
- Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between actual results and budget/forecast .
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies .
- Perform profitability analysis by product, customer, or segment.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and capital expenditure requests.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads .
- Develop and maintain budget templates and guidelines. Manage variance .
- Monitor budget performance and identify areas for improvement .
- Prepare rolling forecasts to provide updated projections of future performance.
Financial Reporting:
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting .
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting records .
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (or other relevant accounting standards).
- Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets .
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting regulations and tax laws .
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures .
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies.
Team Leadership & Management:
- Supervise and mentor a team of financial analysts or accountants (depending on the size of the organization).
- Provide guidance and support to team members .
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs .
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
