Job Description
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will oversee the Finance & Funding Department (FFD), the financial backbone of the company, tasked with ensuring sustainability, transparency, and growth. Its critical mandate is to transition the organisation away from a founder-dependent funding model to a diversified revenue ecosystem that combines grants, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and earned income, providing the stability required for strategic expansion. The department will aggressively pursue government grants and formal partnerships
Responsibilities
- Establish a robust financial management and resource mobilisation system that:
- Guarantees financial transparency and compliance with donors and regulatory standards.
- Proactively engages NITDA and other government agencies, framing communications as a partnership proposal
- Builds a diverse funding portfolio to support the company’s programmes
- Taps into the Diaspora Network: Develop a strategy to collaborate with NITDA’s diaspora engagement platform, connecting the company with Nigerian tech professionals abroad for mentorship and remote support.
- Introduces earned-income streams to gradually reduce dependency on external donors
- Oversee budgeting, donor reporting, and audit preparation.
- Develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy.
- Build partnerships with local and international funding agencies.
- Supervise accounting and procurement processes.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (ICAN/ACCA) or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in NGO or social enterprise finance.
- Strong proposal writing and grant management skills.
