JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing and directing accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset and cost accounting. Prepare periodic reports, reviews and reconciles data and participates in the development of specialized financial data. Oversees and prepare entries and adjustments to Company records, files and statements. Assist with financial and variance analysis and budget preparation. Provides heads of department with information necessary for decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track and follow up with payment of income;
- Make payments as at when due;
- Proffer advice to the company on its portfolio/treasury management;
- Responsible for daily reconciliation of company account;
- Responsible for preparation of management account;
- Responsible for monthly preparation of shareholders report;
- Preparation of regulatory reports to SEC, CBN, NGX;
- Compile and remit VAT, PAYE and other statutory deductions to government agencies;
- Responsible for corporate liquidity, investments and risk management related to the company’s financial activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or numeric field;
- Must be ICAN/ACCA/AAT qualified;
- Master’s degree in Finance is an added advantage;
- 3-5 years’ post NYSC work experience in relevant field;
- Proficient in the use of accounting software packages such as SAGE, QuickBooks;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools such as Microsoft Excel;
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and IFRS standards;
- Experience in financial accounting;
- Experience working in the capital market;
- Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws;
- Applying expertise and technology;
- Analytical skills;
- Excellent team player;
- Must possess financial acumen and knowledge etc.
