Job Summary
- The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new growth opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding market access for farmers supported by the organization.
- The role focuses on securing buyers, investors, and institutional partnerships that support the organization’s agricultural programs and commercial activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to expand the organization's market reach and revenue streams.
- Identify and secure partnerships with agribusinesses, food processors, retailers, and institutional buyers.
- Establish relationships with corporate organizations, development partners, and donor agencies.
- Identify funding and partnership opportunities that support agricultural programs.
- Negotiate agreements with buyers and supply partners for produce sourced from supported farmers.
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for agricultural products.
- Develop and present business proposals, partnership pitches, and investment opportunities.
- Work closely with operations and field teams to align supply with market demand.
- Represent the organization at industry events, agricultural forums, and networking meetings.
- Prepare business development reports, partnership updates, and revenue projections.

- Number of new strategic partnerships secured.
- Revenue generated from new business opportunities.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum of 4–6 years experience in business development, partnerships, or sales.
- Proven track record of securing strategic partnerships and business growth.
- Strong negotiation, networking, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent presentation and proposal development skills.
- Good understanding of agriculture value chains and agribusiness markets.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in agriculture, development programs, or social enterprises.
- Knowledge of agricultural supply chains and rural markets.
- Experience working with donor organizations or development partners.
