Job Description
Job Summary:
- In this role, the procurement manager would manage the availability of raw materials, packaging materials, office supplies, and all other procurement activities of the organization.
Accountable and responsible for:
- Overseeing the sourcing of competitively priced raw materials for AACE Foods’ operations.
- Liaising with smallholder farmers, clusters, and aggregators of raw materials for AACE Foods’ production
- Developing relationships with new suppliers
- Tracking and monitoring the impact of AACE’s engagement with smallholder farmers and actors across the agricultural value chain.
- Preparing weekly, bi-monthly, and quarterly reports for the AACE Foods team and all partners.
- Working closely with the senior management to prepare reports for development partners and to actively meet reporting requirements.
- Working closely with the Production manager and senior management team to manage the stocks, in-flow, and outflow of inventory and finished goods.
- Interfacing with staff, providing direction and support in all aspects of the production of processed and semi-processed inputs.
- Analyzing material spending to identify trends, leakage, and opportunities for cost reduction, standardization, and best practices.
- Carrying out market surveys, forecasts, and recommendations (regional and international).
- Suppliers’ performance management and risk assessment on all contracts/agreements.
- Contract management
Education and Experience:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Agriculture or Agribusiness. A degree in Agric Extension would be an added advantage.
- Any related professional affiliation is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience. Previous experience in the private sector (company or association) or with public-private partnerships would be a plus.

Skills and Knowledge:
- Up-to-date knowledge of the agricultural sector in Nigeria, and value chains related to Chili, Ginger, Turmeric, Maize, Garlic, Onions, etc.
- Good understanding of and work experience in value chain development. Knowledge of inclusive agribusiness models.
- Experience with project result-based planning.
- Proven ability to organize and facilitate capacity-building programs (training, demonstrations, field visits, etc.) and other events for value chain stakeholders.
