Position Summary
- The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining a consistently clean, hygienic, and safe school environment across classrooms, restrooms, offices, playground areas, and common spaces.
- The ideal candidate must be dependable, physically fit, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of sanitation.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Cleaning & Sanitation:
- Sweep, mop, dust, and disinfect classrooms, offices, corridors, and common areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms multiple times daily.
- Ensure Early Years classrooms meet strict hygiene standards.
- Dispose of waste properly and maintain clean waste collection points.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Follow school hygiene and safety protocols.
- Use cleaning chemicals appropriately and safely.
- Report any hazards, damages, or maintenance issues promptly.
- Support infection control procedures when required.
Environment Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness of playground areas and school surroundings.
- Ensure furniture and fixtures are kept clean and orderly.
- Assist in preparing venues for school events and meetings.
Professional Conduct:
- Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance.
- Demonstrate respectful behavior towards pupils, staff, and parents.
- Uphold confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of SSCE or equivalent.
- At least 1 - 2 years experience in cleaning services (school experience is an advantage).
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and sanitation procedures.
- Physically fit and able to perform routine cleaning tasks.
- Must be resident in Abeokuta (mandatory requirement).
