Job Description
Report To: Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor
Location: Abuja (Dakwa)
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients and set up the cooking station before service
- Cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Ensure proper portioning and plating of dishes
- Monitor and maintain the quality, taste, and freshness of food
- Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all time
- Assist in inventory control by reporting shortages or spoilage
- Coordinate with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure timely service
- Receive and store deliveries correctly
- Rotate stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste
- Report any equipment malfunctions or kitchen hazards to the supervisor
- Support training of junior kitchen staff when require
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Food Science, or a related field is preferred
- 2–3 years’ experience in a professional kitchen or food preparation role is preferred
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Culinary school training or certification is an added advantage
