Job Summary
- The Maintenance Officer will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all production and facility equipment.
- The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repairs:
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of production machinery and equipment
- Diagnose faults and carry out corrective actions promptly
- Ensure minimal downtime through efficient troubleshooting.
Preventive Maintenance:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules
- Ensure all equipment is serviced in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
- Maintain maintenance logs and service records.
Facility Maintenance:
- Maintain factory utilities such as electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, and other infrastructure
- Ensure all facilities are functioning effectively to support production operations.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) where applicable
- Conduct routine safety checks and report hazards.
Equipment Installation & Upgrades:
- Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment
- Support equipment upgrades and modifications.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with the production team to resolve equipment-related issues
- Liaise with external contractors and vendors when required
- Provide technical support during production processes.
Inventory & Spare Parts Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance tools
- Ensure availability of critical spares to avoid disruptions.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
- Prepare maintenance reports and escalate recurring issues
- Document breakdowns and corrective actions.
Experience & Qualifications
- HND / B.Sc Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- Relevant technical certifications are an added advantage
- 3–7 years’ experience in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment
- Experience working with production machinery and industrial equipment
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems.
