Role Summary
- The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the Finance Company operates in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, including those issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other relevant regulatory authorities.
- The role is critical in safeguarding the institution against regulatory, legal, and reputational risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance Oversight
- Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT)
- Internal Compliance Framework
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Training and Awareness
- Advisory Role
- Investigation and Enforcement
- Record Keeping and Documentation
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timeliness and accuracy of regulatory reporting
- Number and severity of compliance breaches
- Effectiveness of AML/CFT controls
- Completion rate of compliance training programs
- Regulatory audit outcomes and findings
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum of 1–2 years relevant experience in compliance, risk, or audit within financial services
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian regulatory environment and AML/CFT requirements
