The Store Keeper is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring proper storage, inventory control, and timely distribution of materials and products.
The role requires accuracy, organization, and accountability to maintain efficient stock levels and support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes
Properly store materials to ensure safety, accessibility, and preservation
Maintain accurate records of stock levels, including receipts, issues, and balances
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies
Conduct regular stock counts and periodic inventory audits
Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and documentation of all items in the store
Issue materials and products as requested while maintaining proper authorization procedures
Keep the store clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
Coordinate with procurement and other departments to ensure efficient stock flow
Prepare and submit inventory reports to management
Prevent loss, damage, or theft of goods in the store
Experience with inventory management software or ERP systems
High level of integrity and accountability
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Problem-solving mindset.
Required Skills
Proven experience as a Store Keeper, Warehouse Assistant, or similar role
Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices
Proficiency in record-keeping and basic computer applications (e.g., MS Excel)
Good organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse/store environment.
