SALARY: ₦400,000 per month



ACCOMMODATION: On-site accommodation provided (successful candidate must reside within the hostel facility)



JOB SUMMARY:



The Hostel Administrator is responsible for the overall management of the university hostel, ensuring a safe, orderly, and conducive living environment for students while maintaining operational efficiency and compliance with institutional standards.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Hostel Operations Management




  • Oversee daily running of the hostel facility 

  • Ensure smooth allocation and reallocation of rooms 

  • Monitor occupancy levels and bed space utilization 

  • Maintain proper hostel documentation and records 



Student Welfare & Discipline




  • Enforce hostel rules and regulations 

  • Address student concerns, complaints, and welfare issues 

  • Manage conflicts among students and ensure peaceful coexistence 

  • Support student wellbeing and promote a positive residential culture 



Facility Maintenance & Housekeeping




  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently maintained 

  • Inspect hostel facilities regularly for faults or damages 

  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance with relevant departments 

  • Monitor water supply, electricity, and general utilities 



Security & Safety Management




  • Liaise with security personnel to maintain order within the hostel 

  • Enforce access control and visitor regulations 

  • Ensure emergency procedures and safety protocols are observed 

  • Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies 



Staff Supervision & Coordination




  • Supervise hostel attendants, cleaners, and support staff 

  • Assign duties and monitor staff performance 

  • Ensure compliance with work schedules and standards 

  • Provide guidance and daily operational direction to staff 



Administrative & Record Keeping




  • Maintain accurate hostel records (occupancy, incidents, maintenance logs, etc.) 

  • Prepare periodic reports for management review 

  • Track hostel inventory and basic consumables 

  • Document incidents and follow up on resolutions 



Communication & Reporting




  • Serve as the primary link between students and management 

  • Communicate hostel policies and updates to students  



REQUIREMENTS:




  • Minimum of Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field 

  • 5 years of relevant experience in hostel administration, facility management, or student residential services 

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills 

  • Ability to manage students and maintain discipline effectively 

  • Good administrative and record-keeping abilities 

  • Experience in a university or residential environment is an added advantage
