Key Responsibilities




  • Clinical Care: Conduct comprehensive outpatient consultations, manage antenatal and fertility clinics, and provide specialized care for obstetric and gynaecological cases.

  • Surgical Procedures: Independently perform or assist in obstetric and gynaecological surgeries, including Caesarean Sections (C-S), fibroid, ovarian cyst, appendectomies, and other gynaecological procedures

  • Patient Management: Lead daily ward rounds, manage pre- and post-operative care, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centric services.

  • Emergency Response: Provide 24/7 on-site medical support during scheduled shifts and handle obstetric emergencies with precision and speed.

  • Administrative Excellence: Maintain accurate medical records, participate in clinical audits, and collaborate with the nursing and lab teams to optimize patient outcomes.

  • Responding to patients’ medical problems by referring to their history, carrying out diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and referral, where necessary.

  • Ordering lab tests and interpreting the test results.

  • Maintaining confidentiality and impartiality at all times.

  • Collecting, recording, and maintaining sensitive patient information such as examination results, medical history, and reports.

  • Catch babies, perform operations for patients who require it, routine clinical ward rounds

  • Explaining procedures or prescribed treatments to patients.

  • Liaising with medical professionals in the community and hospitals.

  • Promoting health education in conjunction with other health professionals.

  • Meeting targets set by the hospital for patient satisfaction.

  • Discussing and evaluating new pharmaceutical products with pharmaceutical representatives.

  • Keeping up-to-date with medical developments, treatment, and medication.

  • Observing and assessing the work of trainee doctors, nurses and medical students.



Required Qualifications & Experience




  • Education: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from an accredited institution.

  • Certification: Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) with a current practicing license.

  • Experience: Proven interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology is mandatory.
