Responsibilities

Event Coverage and Team Leadership:




  • Lead coverage of events for Pulse Nigeria where needed, delivering premium coverage that meets client and brand expectations within set timelines

  • Lead and manage a team of content creators who cover events for Pulse Nigeria

  • Define individual roles within the team, working with senior leadership to set expectation and conduct reviews and feedback sessions

  • Oversee and manage team schedules and workloads, providing for rest and time off where required



Strategic Planning & Execution:




  • Develop and maintain an events coverage calendar,

  • Establish and maintain advance timelines for briefing coverage, event arrival and departure and content delivery

  • Develop specific content and execution plans for each event - outlining exactly what is required and how it will be captured, curated and delivered to ensure client expectations are met and surpassed

  • Review and communicate clear content deliverables from clients to creators and collaborators for each event

  • Manage logistics to and from each event, ensuring team members are in the best condition to deliver



Performance and Reporting:




  • Track and analyse performance of event coverage content, personnel, costs and revenue, using those insights to improve strategy and execution

  • Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on output and performance for senior leadership

  • Monitor and review KPIs for the team, collaborators and freelancers



Editorial Standards and Quality Control:




  • Set and uphold clear editorial and coverage standards for all event content - from framing to duration and editing

  • Review and approve content before and after publication to ensure client needs and our standards are met

  • Develop and maintain an events coverage playbook that guides the team on best practice, formats, DOs and DONTs and expectations.



Cross-Functional Collaboration:




  • Work closely with the content, sales and partnership teams to align events coverage with broader content and revenue goals

  • Support the account management team to deliver events coverage and content on time and to specification



Innovation and Platform Strategy:




  • Stay ahead of trends in social media, short form video and live content to ensure our events coverage remains relevant and sharp

  • Champion and develop new formats, tools and approaches that can improve our coverage

  • Develop initiatives and platform-specific event coverage offerings and packages that can be offered to brands and partners.
