Job Summary




  • The Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for managing LifeBank’s payables process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, partners, and service providers.

  • This role is critical in supporting seamless operations across procurement, logistics, and healthcare delivery by maintaining strong financial controls and vendor relationships.



Key Responsibilities




  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper documentation and approvals

  • Log all approved payables accurately on Zero (accounting system) in a timely manner

  • Prepare and execute payments (bank transfers, payment platforms) accurately and on schedule

  • Manage high-volume, time-sensitive payments related to logistics, medical supplies, and operations

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all payable transactions

  • Liaise with vendors, internal teams (Procurement, Operations), and Finance to ensure smooth payment processes

  • Track outstanding payables and provide regular reports to the Finance Manager

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, donor requirements (where applicable), and regulatory standards

  • Support tax processes including withholding tax deductions and documentation

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities

  • Support audits by providing required documentation and schedules



Requirements




  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 2–4 years experience in accounts payable or a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and payables processes

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems (experience with Zero is an advantage)

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines



Preferred Qualifications:




  • ICAN/ACCA (or in progress)

  • Experience in healthcare, logistics, or a high-growth startup

  • Familiarity with payment platforms and reconciliation tools
