Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in the assigned subject(s) in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching materials.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods where appropriate.
- Set high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
Assessment and Reporting:
- Design and administer classwork, assignments, tests, and examinations.
- Mark and provide constructive feedback on students’ work promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ academic progress and attendance.
- Prepare report comments and communicate student progress to parents and school leaders.
- Use assessment data to inform instructional planning and interventions.
Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain an orderly, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
- Enforce school rules, policies, and procedures consistently.
- Promote positive behaviour and student responsibility.
Student Development and Pastoral Care:
- Monitor students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Provide guidance and support to students as needed.
- Identify students requiring additional support and refer them appropriately.
- Serve as a form tutor or class teacher when assigned.
