Responsibilities
Reviewing Financial Transactions:They examine daily sales, payments, receipts, and expenses to ensure all transactions are correctly recorded.
Night Auditing: In many hotels, the auditor performs night audit duties by balancing daily accounts and closing the day’s financial activities.
Verifying Revenue Report: They confirm that income from rooms, restaurant, bar, laundry, and other hotel services is properly accounted for.
Detecting Errors and Fraud: Hotel auditors identify mistakes, irregularities, or suspicious financial activities and report them to management.
Preparing Financial Reports: They prepare daily, weekly, or monthly audit reports for management review and decision-making.
Monitoring Compliance: They ensure hotel departments follow financial procedures, policies, and internal controls.
Checking Guest Accounts: They verify guest bills, room charges, discounts, and payments to ensure billing accuracy.
Coordination with Management and Accounts Department: They work closely with the finance department and hotel management to improve accountability and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
