About the Role
- We are seeking a commercially driven and operationally sound General Manager to lead and scale our gaming operations in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing operations, and delivering exceptional customer experience across retail and digital channels.
- This role requires a strong leader with deep industry knowledge, strategic thinking capability, and hands-on execution experience within the gaming/ betting ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Growth
- Develop and execute business strategies to achieve revenue, market share, and profitability targets
- Identify growth opportunities across retail outlets, online platforms, and partnerships
- Drive market expansion initiatives across key regions in Nigeria
Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of gaming outlets and digital platforms
- Ensure operational efficiency, service quality, and standardization across all touchpoints
- Implement performance tracking systems and KPIs across business units
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian gaming regulations and licensing requirements
- Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the National Lottery Regulatory Commission and state gaming boards
- Maintain internal controls and risk management frameworks
Financial Performance
- Own P&L responsibility, budgeting, and financial forecasting
- Drive cost optimization while maintaining service quality
- Monitor revenue streams, payouts, and margins
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams (operations, marketing, tech, finance)
Customer Experience & Brand
- Enhance customer acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies
- Ensure seamless user experience across physical and digital platforms
- Strengthen brand positioning in a competitive market
Technology & Product
- Collaborate with tech teams to improve platform performance and uptime
- Oversee product innovation including sportsbook, casino, and virtual gaming offerings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (MBA is an advantage)
- 8–12+ years of experience, with at least 4–6 years in a senior leadership role
- Strong experience in gaming, sports betting, fintech, or related sectors
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing large-scale operations
- Deep understanding of the Nigerian gaming regulatory landscape
- Strong financial acumen and P&L management experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
