Job Description
- St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is seeking a competent, organized, and detail-oriented Health Record Management Officer to manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation, confidentiality, and accessibility of medical information within the hospital.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, organizing, retrieving, and safeguarding patient health records in compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, organize, and update patient medical records accurately.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of patient information and clinical reports.
- Retrieve and distribute patient files to authorized departments when required.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient records at all times.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records before filing.
- Register new patients and manage patient data within the hospital record system.
- Assist in data entry, record digitization, and electronic health record management where applicable.
- Prepare reports and statistical data as required by Management.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and legal requirements regarding patient information.
- Track missing files and ensure proper accountability of records movement.
- Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure smooth record management operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the records department.
Education & Professional Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Health Information Management, Health Record Management, or related field
- Relevant professional certification is an added advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 1–2 years relevant experience is preferred
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is an added advantage

- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Willingness to work shifts or extended hours when necessary.

Remuneration
- Competitive Salary: N60,000 - N70,000 per month.
