Job Description
The Accountant will manage financial records, reporting, compliance, and cost control across the business. The role supports management decision-making through accurate financial data and ensures regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all business transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and forecasts.
- Track and analyze unit economics to ensure product and branch profitability.
- Manage payroll preparation and compliance with PAYE, VAT, and WHT remittances.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely settlements.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow effectively.
- Implement and manage accounting systems/software for both branches.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (state and federal).
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Provide detailed reports and insights to management to support decision-making.
- Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
- Support fundraising efforts by preparing accurate financial models and projections.
- Establish and monitor internal financial controls to reduce risks and losses.
