Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
- The Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and coordinating security operations through surveillance systems, managing access control processes, and overseeing journey management activities to ensure the safety of personnel, assets, and operations. The role requires real-time monitoring, prompt incident response, and effective communication with field teams and stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Surveillance Monitoring
- Monitor CCTV and other surveillance systems to detect and report suspicious activities or security breaches.
- Conduct continuous observation of assigned locations and escalate incidents in line with established protocols.
- Maintain logs of all surveillance activities and incidents.
Access Control Management
- Monitor and control access to facilities through access control systems.
- Verify and authorize entry/exit of personnel, visitors, and vehicles in accordance with company policies.
- Identify and escalate unauthorized access attempts or security violations.
Journey Management
- Track and monitor movement of personnel and vehicles to ensure safe and timely journeys.
- Maintain communication with field staff during trips and respond promptly to emergencies or deviations.
- Escalate delays, route deviations, or distress situations as per journey management procedures.
Incident Management & Reporting
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies promptly and in accordance with SOPs.
- Escalate incidents to relevant stakeholders and provide accurate situation updates.
- Prepare and submit timely and detailed incident reports.
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the central communication hub between field teams, clients, and management.
- Provide timely updates and ensure effective coordination during operations or emergencies.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate logs of activities, incidents, communications, and system reports.
- Ensure proper documentation in line with compliance and audit requirements.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere strictly to company policies, security procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all operations are conducted in line with safety standards.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Minimum of OND/HND/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a control room, security operations, or monitoring role is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.
- Proficiency in using CCTV systems, tracking tools, and basic computer applications.
- Good coordination and multitasking abilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Shift-based role (including nights, weekends, and public holidays).
- Requires continuous monitoring and alertness for extended periods.
