JOB SUMMARY
This is an exceptional opportunity for doctors with a passion for emergency and critical care medicine who are looking to build — or advance — a career pathway toward Emergency Medicine specialisation. Working directly alongside experienced EHCON emergency medicine consultants, you will gain hands-on clinical exposure at the forefront of acute and critical care. The EHCON Medical Officer supports consultants in the clinical management of emergency and critical care departments. You will assess and manage acutely ill patients while on duty, playing a prominent role in resuscitation and team-based care. Beyond the clinical floor, this role offers structured engagement in teaching, training delivery, and research — building a comprehensive foundation in emergency medicine. You will be expected to lead training at the EHCON Training Centre and participate actively in EHCON-led research — equipping you with both the clinical depth and academic breadth required for specialisation in emergency medicine

ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Medical Officer shall work with and under the supervision of the EHCON consultants.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the medical team to manage emergency and critical care patients
- Keep up to date on literature and relevant advances in the fields of emergency and critical care
- Ensure availability when scheduled for duty
- Attend required training for professional development, including courses aligned with Emergency Medicine specialisation
- Become an instructor in core EHCON courses and trainings
- Function as a research physician for EHCON and work with research team members to assist with data collection, analysis, and other research tasks
QUALIFICATIONS
- MBBS (or equivalent medical degree)
- Post-NYSC with plans to remain in Nigeria for 2 years or more BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (or willingness to obtain — training support available)
- Verifiable experience in emergency medicine and/or critical care
