- The Human Capital (HC) Assistant is involved with nearly all programs and services that relate to a company’s Human Capital Division.
- His/her role which is often decidedly administrative in nature, involves documenting grievances, terminations, absences, performance reports, and compensation and benefits information.
- Beyond administrative duties, however, HC assistant is also often involved in recruiting, hiring, and training new employees. Typical tasks, therefore, include posting job openings, gathering information on new applicants, contacting references, and informing employees of their hiring status.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment / New Hire Process:
- Participating in recruitment efforts
- Scheduling job interviews and assisting in the interview process
- Ensuring background and reference checks are completed
- Preparing new employee files
- Orienting new employees to the organization (setting up a designated log-in, workstation, email address, etc.)
- Conducting benefit enrollment process
- Administering new employment assessments
- Serving as a point person for all new employee questions.
Training:
- Organise and develop materials for internal training.
- Measure training effectiveness with the use of HC metrics.
- Plan and deliver training - including inductions for new staff.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Provides payroll information by collecting time and attendance records.
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonuses, leaves, etc)
Report / Record Maintenance:
- Maintain/process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases; tracking vacation, sick, and personal time, staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, etc).
- Compiling reports and spreadsheets and preparing spreadsheets.
HR Standards:
- Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
- Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
Qualifications
- OND / HND / B.Sc in Human Resources / Industrial Relations / Personnel Management or any other Degree in Arts / Humanities / Social Sciences.
- Minimum of 1 year working experience is required.
- Strong interest in Human Capital/Resources Management is highly required.
Computer Savvy Skills:
