Job Description
Our client, a top-tier co-educational secondary school in Nigeria, is seeking an Account Officer who will manage the financial bookkeeping of the school by processing invoices, recording payments, and tracking expenses.
Each expense must be cross-checked with the corresponding invoice, to ensure that the billing is accurate. Communicating with customers is a regular duty of this job by sending bills to customers and working to resolve billing disputes.
Reports to: Group Accountant; CFO.
Responsibilities
- Handle campus accounts payable and receivable
- Maintain up-to-date billing system
- Generate and send out invoices as at when due
- Follow up on, collect and allocate payments in Xero ERP promptly
- Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
- Perform account reconciliations of all debtors
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
- Research and resolve invoices & receipts discrepancies
- Maintain campus imprest and expenses payments with prompt posting in Xero ERP
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- B.Sc. or HND. in Accounting or Finance
- ACA/ACCA/MBA is an added advantage.
- Minimum of Three (3) years accounting & finance experience.
- Highest level of integrity, excellence & creativity
- Knowledge and understanding of Nigerian Taxation Laws
- Knowledge of Xero accounting ERP and ability to use the entire MS Office suite will be an added advantage.
- Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees, including top, middle and supervisory levels of management.
