The Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel generators ranging from 20kVA and above across client sites, ensures reliable power supply, compliance with safety standards, and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission, and test diesel generators (20kVA–500kVA)
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in generators, control panels, ATS/AMF systems.
Perform load testing, performance checks, and system inspections
Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
Ensure compliance with HSE, company policies, and Nigerian electrical standards.
Provide technical support to clients and respond to emergency breakdowns.
Work closely with mechanical engineers and field technicians.
Requirements
Trade Test Certificate, OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience working with a reputable generator servicing or power solutions company.
Strong knowledge of diesel generators, engines, and mechanical systems.
Experience in field service engineering is an added advantage.
Excellent troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Strong reporting and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
