Job Summary
- We are seeking a competent and experienced Electrical & Mechanical Technician to join our team.
- The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of our power generation equipment, including MWM and CAT (Caterpillar) generator sets, electrical distribution systems, and associated plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Technician:
- Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on MWM and CAT generator electrical systems.
- Install, test, commission, and maintain electrical power distribution systems (LV/MV).
- Troubleshoot electrical faults on generators, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, control panels, protection systems, and synchronizing equipment.
- Perform generator synchronization, load sharing, and power management operations.
- Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, and electrical protection tests.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and permit-to-work procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare technical reports.
Mechanical Technician:
- Perform routine maintenance, overhauls, and repairs on MWM and CAT gas/diesel engines.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults involving engines, cooling systems, lubrication systems, fuel systems, pumps, compressors, valves, and auxiliary equipment.
- Carry out engine alignment, vibration monitoring, and condition-based maintenance activities.
- Participate in major engine overhauls and shutdown maintenance.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to maximize plant availability and reliability.
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
Qualifications
- National Diploma (ND), Trade Test, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications in power plant maintenance or OEM training on MWM and CAT generators will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- 3 – 5 years' hands-on experience in a power generation plant or industrial facility.
- Proven experience working with MWM and CAT (Caterpillar) generator sets.
- Experience in generator installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhaul.
- Practical knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, synchronizing panels, and generator protection systems.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
