We are seeking an experienced, hygienic and dependable Cook who can prepare tasty and nutritious meals.
The successful candidate should be skilled in preparing a wide variety of Nigerian disheswhile maintaining excellent food-safety and kitchen-hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and other meals as required.
Prepare a variety of Nigerian dishes and selected continental meals.
Develop suitable meal plans in consultation with the employer.
Prepare meals according to individual preferences and dietary requirements.
Prepare shopping lists and monitor the availability of food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
Ensure proper portioning and minimise food waste.
Store food items correctly and monitor expiry dates.
Maintain a clean and properly organised kitchen.
Wash and properly store cooking utensils and kitchen equipment.
Observe high standards of personal hygiene and food safety.
Inform the employer promptly when ingredients or kitchen supplies need to be replaced.
Perform other cooking-related duties assigned by the employer.
Requirements
Minimum of an SSCE, GCE, NECO or equivalent qualification.
A certificate in catering, hospitality or culinary arts would be an advantage.
At least two years of verifiable experience as a Cook in a private residence, restaurant, hotel, catering company or similar environment.
Strong ability to prepare different Nigerian meals.
Ability to prepare basic continental dishes will be an advantage.
Good knowledge of food hygiene, storage and kitchen safety.
Ability to follow instructions and accommodate dietary preferences.
Honest, punctual, organised and able to work with minimal supervision.
