Job Description
Job Summary
- A Heavy Earth Moving Machine (HEMM) Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and performance optimization of heavy earth moving equipment used in oil & gas operations.
- The role ensures maximum equipment availability, reliability, and compliance with safety and manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of HEMM equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults.
- Supervise maintenance technicians, mechanics and service personnel.
- Ensure equipment is maintained according to OEM specifications and company procedures.
- Conduct equipment inspections and condition monitoring to identify potential failures.
- Prepare maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Monitor machine performance, fuel efficiency, and equipment utilization.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair histories, and technical reports.
- Coordinate the procurement of spare parts, consumables, and maintenance tools.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Train and mentor technicians on equipment maintenance and safe work practices.
- Liaise with OEM representatives and contractors for major repairs, commissioning, and technical support.
- Participate in equipment commissioning, testing and acceptance of new machines.
- Ensure workshop tools, lifting equipment, and diagnostic instruments are properly maintained.
Qualifications
- B. Eng, HND, or B. Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional certification is an added advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of five years experience.
