Job Summary
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across the College to ensure a safe, functional, and uninterrupted learning and working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults promptly and efficiently.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on electrical systems and installations.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.
- Respond promptly to electrical maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Maintain records of repairs, maintenance activities, and materials used.
- Report major faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Support other maintenance activities as assigned.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Trade Test Certificate in Electrical Installation (required).
Experience
- 1–3 years' practical experience as an Electrician, preferably in a school, commercial, or residential facility.
Knowledge & Skills
- Good understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret basic electrical diagrams.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and best practices.
- Good problem-solving and fault diagnosis skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
