About the role:
We are looking for an experienced video editor who understands the science of YouTube retention. This isn't a corporate editing role; this is about building a cinematic experience that keeps viewers glued to the screen. You will be editing long-form and different style videos and cutting them down for Shorts/Clips. The ideal candidate will be responsible for taking raw footage and transforming it into polished, on-brand assets specifically for youtube channel and other social media platforms. The ideal candidate is a storytelling expert who can edit for retention, understands the technical aspects of color grading and audio mixing, and can work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Role expectation;
- Edit long-form content for YouTube including highlights and short-form clips for other social media platforms from start to finish, including rough cuts, fine cuts, color correction, audio sweetening, and final mastering.
- Edit videos with a focus on pacing, narrative arc, and visual flow.
- Create engaging lower-thirds, transitions, and dynamic text overlays to enhance viewer retention (Proficiency in After Effects is required).
- Cut videos specifically for platform specifications (9:16 for vertical, 16:9 for horizontal) and implement retention strategies (hook cuts, pacing adjustments).
- Ensure all content adheres to brand voice, style guides, and visual identity systems.
- Work closely with the Creative Director and Scriptwriters to interpret storyboards and briefs.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional video editing experience (Agency or Media House preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition (or DaVinci Resolve),Capcut etc.
- Must provide a portfolio showing high-energy social media edits and narrative storytelling.
- Ability to turn around rough cuts within 24-48 hours.
- Deep understanding of frame rates, codecs, export settings, and color spaces.
Skills Required;
- You have a strong eye for pacing and rhythm; you know when to cut and when to hold.
- You can handle feedback gracefully and iterate quickly.
- Experience with sound mixing, color grading, and basic camera operation.
