Halifield Schools is seeking a compassionate, proactive, and experienced College Guidance Counselor to support the academic, emotional, social, and behavioral development of students in the College Section. The ideal candidate will be passionate about student welfare and committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and group counseling sessions for students.
Support students with academic, emotional, social, and behavioral challenges.
Develop and implement guidance and counseling programs that promote students’ overall wellbeing.
Identify students requiring additional support and make appropriate referrals where necessary.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school leadership to support student development.
Maintain confidential student records and prepare reports when required.
Provide career guidance and assist students with educational and career planning.
Organize workshops and awareness programs on topics such as mental health, study skills, personal development, and responsible decision-making.
Ensure compliance with the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies.
Respond appropriately to student welfare concerns and crisis situations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Guidance & Counselling, Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a secondary school or college setting.
Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
High level of professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.
Sound knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
