Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet organizational goals.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to budgets.
- Adjust budgets as needed based on changing financial conditions
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
- Present financial reports to stakeholders, including executives, board members, or investors.
- Evaluate investment opportunities to maximize returns.
- Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity for operational needs.
- Oversee capital structure, including loans, equity financing, and debt repayment.
- Posting of sales invoice, vendor invoice and inventory into the accounting software
- Ensure commercial department is notified of sales inflows into the company account
- Manages issuance of payment receipt to company inflow
- Generating a customer and Vendor ledger
- Receiving & issuing of inventory into the accounting software.
- Preparation of necessary schedules to the final account and attend to external auditors query
- Ensure fixed asset register is maintained.
- Preparation of Project report
- Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed.
- Reconciles invoices and customer deposit /payments
- Prepares vouchers, invoices, cheques, vendor/customer account statements, reports, and other records, and reviews for accuracy.
- Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
- Oversees and manage the preparation of payroll.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes accounting and organisation mission by completing related results as needed.
- Oversee and responsible for liaison activities with regulatory bodies for tax purpose, filing and reconciliation.
- Oversee and responsible for financial controls by maintaining accounting operations in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Assists in stock-taking and maintenance.
Skill, Knowledge, Education and Experience
- BSc / HND in Accounting is preferred
- Chartered in accounting is preferred i.e ICAN, ACCA, ANAN
- 5 - 7 years’ experience in a similar position
- Minimum of 2 years in supervisory / managerial role
- Certification in computer applications will be an added advantage
