Responsibilities
- Financial Data & Cost Optimization: Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost optimization, enhancing financial decision-making.
- General Ledger Accuracy: Analyze expenses and cost transactions, ensuring that transactions are recorded accurately in the appropriate cost center and general ledger.
- Budget Tracking & Variance Analysis: Monitor and report on actual costs versus budgeted costs, accurately identifying variances and recommending corrective actions to maintain budget integrity.
- Inventory Control & Audit: Participate in month-end stock count activities to verify physical assets and align inventory with financial balances.
- Budgetary Support: Assist in preparing and reviewing departmental budgets, ensuring precision and compliance with company policies, which improved budget accuracy.
- Cost-Saving Strategies: Contribute to developing and implementing cost-saving initiatives, including process improvements and supplier negotiations, resulting in measurable cost reductions.
- Management Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, including detailed cost analyses and actionable recommendations for cost reduction to senior management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including operations and management, to ensure alignment and enhance cost management practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
- HND or Bachelor's Degree in Banking and Finance or Accounting.
- Proven experience in finance or accounting roles, with knowledge of financial principles and practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
