We are looking for an experienced Finance Officer who will provide support to the Finance Team by managing daily accounting and financial tasks.
You will compile reports, prepare, maintain and reconcile financial statements and other financial documents.
Responsibilities
Managing the full spectrum of financial accounting and reporting - driving accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closing.
Maintain schedules to track & manage PPE, accrued & prepaid exp, related party transactions, etc.
Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions
Review invoices and other payment requests for appropriate approvals, adequacy of budget cover, the validity of claims, and relevant supporting documents
Financial planning / forecasting, risk analyzing and periodic budgets and subsequent variance analysis on prepared budgets against actuals.
Review and reconcile relevant tax accounts – VAT, WHT, PAYE, etc. to ensure completeness, accuracy, and validity
Compute and file tax returns to relevant tax authorities including related reports to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
Administer petty cash disbursement and reconciliation
Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories
Periodically review the organization’s financial reports and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Coordinate with team members to solve any issues faced by chargeback and settlement departments.
Ensure daily processing of outgoing dispute actions and on-time response of incoming disputes.
Coordinate with gateway platforms to solve pending issues and reply to their inquiries.
Communicate with the system support team to report problems and recommend system enhancements & automation.
Requirements
HND / Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
1 - 3 years of experience working as a Finance Officer
Professional accounting qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CIMA) is an added advantage
Strong use of Quickbooks/ Sage accounting ERP, Excel and Google suite proficiency
Good knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
Comprehensive Knowledge and Application of Nigerian Tax Laws
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Great analytical and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge and understanding of payment scheme operations (gateway platforms)
Experience working in a Big 4 is is an added advantage.
