Job Description



  • Manages the Finance department and ensures that the team operates efficiently while prioritizing accuracy and honesty.

  • Manages financial expenditure, including accruals, accounts payable, running costs, staff expenses, administrative costs, VAT & CIT, levies, taxation and other statutory deductions to government agencies.

  • Manages bookkeeping and accounting functions, ensuring that they are completed in accordance with established procedures and applicable regulations.

  • Researches and resolves accounting errors and discrepancies;

  • Develops, implements, and ensures appropriate accounting processes and controls are in place

  • Develop, implement and update accounting journals

  • Prepares regulatory and governmental reports, reviews financial information needed to ensure an accurate statement of the Company’s financial position to various regulatory agencies

  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing accounting information of all the business units

  • Forecasts cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and funds available for investment;

  • Documents all financial transactions and secures financial information by completing database backups

  • Leads budget preparations and reconciliation and formulation of the company’s yearly projections and financial analyses

  • Ensures the accuracy, completeness, integrity, and reliability of all financial information

  • Develops, reviews and implements credit control policies; facilitates debt recovery processes

  • Implement audit processes within the department and the company, create and keep audit journals updated

  • Prepares regular (monthly, quarterly and year-end) financial reports and statements for management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Monitor costs and expenses, recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options;

  • Creates, processes, tracks and follows up with the company’s financial functions;

  • Makes payment to vendors as and when due;

  • Responsible for daily reconciliation of company account(s) across all branches

  • Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations

  • Builds and maintains customers’ confidence in company’s financial operations

  • Maintain ethics in all duties, including confidentiality in financial processes;

  • Assisting other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;

  • Engages in recruitment, training and motivation of staff as required;

  • Keep informed about the latest developments in the finance industry.


Requirements



  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc / M.Sc Degree in Accounting

  • ICAN Qualification

  • 5 years+ post qualification experience

  • Use of accounting software (ERP,SAP)

  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow modeling, audit, tax and compliance obligations accounting.
