Job Description



Your role will cut across budgeting, book-keeping, financial reporting and analysis and tax management.

Responsibilities


Financial / Management Reporting:



  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of accounting records by performing daily reconciliations.

  • Ensure documentation of all documentary evidence (e.g Invoices, receipts etc.) for all financial transactions.

  • Ensure daily sales performance is reported to the CEO

  • Ensure effective management of payables and receivables accounts.

  • Execution of month-end procedures and process and prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with IFRS

  • Prepare statement of monthly cash burn

  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance

  • Monitoring and enforcing internal controls over financial transactions and financial reporting.

  • Prepare investors returns on a quarterly basis.

  • Perform leads analysis on a monthly basis, which provides a basis for sound business decisions by management.


Budget and Budgetary Control:



  • Engage all relevant stakeholders in the preparation of the business’ budget to achieve the agreed corporate objectives

  • Monitors the implementation of budget to proactively identify and manage budget variances


Tax Management:



  • Ensures compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings (e.g WHT, PAYE, CIT & VAT)

  • Ensure 100% remittance of all tax and statutory obligations (e.g Pension, WHT, PAYE, CIT & VAT)

  • Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate personnel in relevant tax authorities

  • Research on future legislation that impacts taxation and operations, including future risks

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO


Experience and Skills



  • Candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 5 years working experience (at least 2 years working as a senior finance professional)

  • In-depth understanding of the organization’s business.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Attention to details.

  • Good Management abilities.

  • Knowledge of GAAP/ IFRS

  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, tax, budgeting, and cost control principles

  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills

  • Negotiation

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, google sheets and other relevant accounting tools
